Chinese political science community has always attached great importance to the development of an autonomous knowledge system of Chinese political science. In 2019, the School of International Studies of Renmin University of China, together with the School of International Relations and Public Affairs and the Institute of International Studies of Fudan University, co-launched the Forum on the Knowledge System of Chinese Political Science, which has been held for six consecutive sessions so far.
On April 25, 2022, when President Xi Jinping inspected Renmin University of China, he pointed out that we should continuously promote the creative transformation and innovative development of fine traditional Chinese culture, as well as constantly advance knowledge innovation, theoretical innovation and methodological innovation, so that philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics can truly stand firm in the world academic community. For disciplines that are crucial to national governance and global development, such as political science, national security, area and country studies, and public administration, it is even more necessary to explore long-term cases and universal theories behind immediate issues and specific knowledge. Only by promoting Chinese political science theories to a longer history and a broader world can we lay a solid foundation for developing the knowledge system of political science.
The 7th Forum will be held at Renmin University of China (Zhongguancun Campus) on December 13-14, 2025, continuing with the theme of Modernization and the Knowledge System of Chinese Political Science.
